LastPass.com for Passwords

If you don't already know of this site called LastPass.com it's a program that goes on your computer, tablet and/or your phone to help with the insertion of passwords to the sites you visit. They have a free version and a paid version I use the free version and have my carwash supply sites and the ACF on AutoLogin so I don't have to type in my password. Just thought I would put that out there, Have a Good Day.

I’ve been using LastPass for about 4 or 5 years. It’s very good. The paid version is definitely worth it if you have an iPhone. I think it might be $10/yr. The paid version gets you the app. I highly recommend.

I have a question for those of you who use two part authentication (I think that’s what it’s called). That’s the way thing where when you log in, you must enter a code that’s text to you in addition to your password. What happens if you lose your phone and you can’t remember a password to a site or are unable to get the code? I was thinking that if my wallet and phone were stolen I’d be screwed...how would you shut down your credit cards etc.?

EVERYONE needs to keep a spreadsheet of Sites, user names and passwords in a secure location. It will save loved ones from a huge headache if you get hit by a truck. You can keep a copy on your PC locked with a password and keep that password in a secure location. That way you can update as needed and print out periodically. Use cloud service backup for the PC.

I am very leery of any app or website that stores my passwords and user names. Why does anyone think they can't be hacked? I am not an internet security expert but distrust the cloud enough that I maintain paper files still - in case the IRS comes a callin'. On the inside cover of my manila file folders I write an encrypted version of the password for that supplier in case I get hit by the proverbial bus tomorrow.

I agree on keeping a physical copy of usernames and passwords but I have so many sites I use and the cloud especially, it's frustrating as hell to forget your password and you need to access info out on job sites.

If you think that is frustrating think of someone who needs to do this for someone who becomes disabled or is deceased.
