LED - Again

I checked with my supplier and they don’t carry a replacement LED bulb for the 4’ H.O fixtures that have the R17D ends. Why don’t you use your existing fixtures, if they are enclosed and the enclosure is in good condition you can change the tombstones and use a bi-pin LED bulb? I had to change out all my tombstones when I installed my LED bulbs, it was no big deal.

I agree with Randy. No big deal to change out tombstones. You have to bypass the ballast anyway and wire the tombstones directly to 120v. The only thing to watch out for is how the new LED tubes are wired. Some have the positive/negative terminals on one end and others are wired positive on one end of the tube and negative on the other end...

I just did converted my 4' ho flourescent to these http://www.hyliteledlighting.com/tube-lights.html. No need to change out tombstone just popped in an adapter on each end and voila! I did have to bypass the the ballast but very cheap easy! Come with a 50k hour warranty

They illuminate 130deg and with the adapter you can swivel top tube up and bottom tube down to light up awning

I just put some of those 5' lights in my pet wash. They are a good light. I did drill a hole in the back to feed the wires. I don't seem like they put out a lot of light. 2 lights in 175 sqft. I still think for bays that the G&G lights are the best.

I'll have to check and see how these tombstones are installed in the 2 different types of fixtures I have. I don't recall. Some seem to slip into slots and some have nuts and bolts, and they I will check to see what replacement is available.

I bought 2 of these on Amazon.
I liked the fact that they were 5' not 4'.
The price was unbeatable.
Put these up 3 weeks ago. Looks great.

Seems like a winner but my lights are wired at 277V so I don't think these will work since specs say $110V

Feeling lazy lol.... I don't have a link because I called and told them what I was doing and they said changing out tombstones wouldn't work but sold me these little adapters ($0.42/ adapter) (only for high output fixtures)that just pop into existing tombstones! Give them a call The new tubes are much brighter than my old flourescent ones almost too bright but they look awesome. Too be honest I didn't install as a handyman buddy owed me a favor so he knocked them out. Took him about 2 hours to convert 20 tubes. All in about $1200 - these work great in my awnings but I'd be hesitant to put them any where near water.

Most of the 4' LED retrofit tubes are 110v - 277v auto switching. Just need to look at the specs. I have (50) 4' 22w LED tubes coming that put out about 2200 Lumens each. Going to retrofit the double tube t-12 4' open fixtures in my garage. I am going to compare to some I already had that I paid $16 each...I paid a lot less than $16 each for the 50 I just bought. Will let you know the link once I compare brightness to the ones I already have. Bought them direct shipped from China since they all come from there in the first place...
