Looking for a well thought out trash tee-pee.

I have the SS trash covers that have what looks like a "half-pipe" over the hole. I want a tee-pee with mat holders to bolt on to my existing covers. Most of what I have seen appear to be designed by someone that has never used a car wash. First off, I need for the hole to be on the same panel as the mat holders. Most of them are 90° around and in many instances unaccessible or at least very inconvenient. Secondly, the only one I have seen that did have the hole located below the holders, had a tiny hole. I ended up taking it to a machine shop and have them enlarge it. Thirdly, most of them have the mat holder welded on...seriously! Do they think the damn thing are never going to need replacing? Mine are damaged now and I'm not looking forward to replacing them.

Anybody know of something that ticks all the boxes?

I bout one about 7 years ago from Kleen Rite and its still in great shape. Its all Stainless. The hole is a bit small, BUT I dont want it to be easy for people to stuff large items in the trash!! The stainless mat clips have not failed in 7 years. The only issue I am starting to see is the rivets that they use are starting to fail, so I will be welding the top to the base, and the hinge is beginning to separate. In all I like them.

Everything I saw on the K/R site has the the hole 90° around, on the side. There are other things on vac islands, like other vacs, light poles, fragrance machines, or whatever, making the side hole less than ideal to say the least. The sensible place for the hole is...wait for it...wait for it...facing the customer.

Dultmeier carries the ones made by Dralco - I don't recall how the hole is set up, but it doesn't have the clamps welded on.

The local JC distributor lives across the street from me. I have him checking to see if I can buy the teepee without the base. Since I have bases that are already mounted, it would be simpler (and hopefully cheaper) to drill holes and mount their teepee to my bases. Their teepee is riveted to the base, so at some time they are seperate halves. I can't imagine it would be a big deal for them to sell me just the top half.

Keep us posted. I'd be interested in doing the same thing.
