If the VT board does not fix the problem is there a way to bypass the right limit so you can go wide on vehicles for now?

To me, it's a bit of a half a$$ fix, but you could wash cars without impacts at least.

Is there a chiclet relay within this circuit that is perhaps sticking occasionally? I have those in my input / output cards and they do fail sometimes and they are easy to change.

Ah, didn't think of that. I'll try it tomorrow and run a few days and report back.

Thanks.

Hmm. I wouldn't want to bypass the right limit, but not measure the right side and go wide to the right limit on every vehicle. I don't know how I could "fool" the machine to go wide right every time without setting measure widths.

Not sure either. On my machine the right limit was controlled via a floor treadle switch. I got rid of that years ago and let my touchfree go wide on every car.

I usually try replacing the chiclet relay early on in my own troubleshooting, just because it's simple to do and they can wear out. I learned components like that only are good for so many duty cycles.

Changed the 2nd trolley tire today, so both are new now. X30 prox switch was about 1/4" away from flags, so we moved that to 1/8". It impacted once on the 11th, twice on the 12th, and once on the 13, 14, 15, 16, and none today so far.

No relays on the input cards, so nothing to replace there.

Keep your head up. A wise tech chastised me a few years ago for not checking the air in my tires at least every other day. He said most problems can be traced back to bad tires/tubes etc. I check them every two days to 29lbs. Make sure proxes look good as well. I change my tubes and tires every year. Rollers every year and a half or so. Cheap fix to avoid headaches. Keep us updated. I know it can be very frustrating...

Oh yeah, have you ever replace the Y33 relay or Y10 relay? There are two relays in your J0. One is a 24v and the other 120v. I have had these start to fail and cause weird issues as well with measurement and the VT.

No, haven't done that.

I surrendered today and ordered a VT card $500. Ouch. It impacted once yesterday, then 6:30 this morning, then after tweeking some stuff it impacted my truck on a test, but I noticed on the initial dump and creep left it measured way wide at the passenger front. It then came down drivers side okay, rear okay, but measured short on the 270 turn and impacted my truck. So, since I saw it happen, something is awry at the front, also.

I reset and rewashed my truck. It measured properly at the front, then properly at the rear. Hasn't failed all day since. New VT card to be installed tomorrow. Will have to calibrate everything.

C235,

Must be something in the air. Started having "Bank 1, LED 6" Out of Sync Errors. PDQ recommended I replace my VT board. Set it up yesterday. All ok so far. Hope all is well over there.

Distributor came out and we found a bad mid limit cable and we had the wrong flag on the mid limit. (It is on the rail). Changed all that and it hasn't burped in two days so far. No VT board needed, so that saved $500. Hopefully we got it. ;)

Just wire 24- to x30 right at card then all your problems will disappear forever . Never have to mess with false impacts and all that crap it runs wide everytime and that's fine . Been running like this for 8 months never an issue

How wide is wide? If it ran to the right limit it wouldn't hit about one foot of the car all the way from front to back? It would look like a race car stripe of dirt across the top of the vehicle.

It's been 2 weeks now and we haven't had any faults or failures. That may be a record for me.

Glad to hear all is good in your neck of the woods! I wouldn't wire the x30 to 24v. Just doesn't sound like you'd get a good wash.
