Mars validator in Hamilton Auto Cashier will take several bills and throw the code disabled from system. Reset it and then it will take bills again for awhile then will do the same thing. We have cleaned it and made sure all connections are good. Have any suggestions for correcting this problem?

There are couple of thing it could be. Which Hamilton ACW is this validator installed in? ACW-4/5 or the Goldline? What voltage is the Mars validator 24 or 110 volt. How long has it been in service?

The ACW-4/5 uses a 110 volt validator. There are 3 things that could be wrong. The cycle inhibit relay box could be bad, the bill box lens could be loose or the bill box is not sitting on the validator correctly or the validator needs to be serviced. The 110 volt Mars validators have a capacitor on the main board that needs to be changed every few years. If it's 3 years old it's about time for a good overhaul, not just a belt change. When you say you reset it, how are you resetting it? Cycling the power On and Off?

I was wrong. We have a Gold Line. If the same stands for it where do you purchase the parts? Can we fix it ourselves or do we need to have a professional do it? To reset I have been powering On and Off. Thank you for your help.

The Goldline ACW uses a 24 volt AE2602 validator. You’re going to have to send it in for repair. It sounds like you have sensor board issue.

I have a couple of goldlines with this same issue and I am not sure if the validator is the issue or the universal relay block is the issue. The enable light is off on the relay block and it's like the enable relay is weak. While leaving the power on, I can unplug the validator and the enable light comes back on. Not sure if there is an issue in the validator causing the relay to stay off or if the enable relay is weak causing the validator to disable from system.
