Matt Hangers/clamps

These mat hangers in the self serve bays have lost their quality over the years. KR, Windtrax sells them but they sure don't last. These most recent ones I've purchased the plastic "teeth" pop off within days as customers pull down on their mats.

Anyone know of another source that sells a better quality hanger? Low cost equals cheap junkers these days.

These hangers from KR and Windtrax used to have a metal rod that would pass through the "teeth" and secure it to the clamp. Now there's no metal rod just the plastic and stick through the hole. They're junk.

You're right, they leave a little bit to be desired...I just drill through the hanger and plastic part and put a SS 1/4-20 Philips head bolt through... Cap with a SS locknut and you won't have any more problems.

IB, would it be possible to add another Status Level above Senior Member called “Thread Killer”!?!? I think I’ve reached it!

You can enter a Custom User Title.

I ordered some binding posts and screws from McMaster and used those to replace the plastic pins. They were kind of expensive but it looks a lot neater than a bolt and nut. It requires Loctite or they'll come loose over time.

I made the change on the status title! Thx! Testing the waters....

I've never had a problem with the locknut backing off. I have hangers like this several years old...No Loctite...Pretty cheap and easy fix...

I meant the binding posts need Loctite because they're not quite long enough to tighten down all the way.
