MEI validator fussy with 5's

I have a MEI validator (2712???), with recycler in my Shurvend vending machine. The recycler is set to recycle 5's.

Acceptance is great for everything EXCEPT 5's. 5's require multiple attempts. Older bills get accepted easier than new bills, in fact some new bills won't accept at all.

Is there something that I can do?

Is there something that I can do? Nope, your going to have to send it in for repair. When was the last time it was serviced?

Not sure when it was serviced. Pre-Covid for sure.

Who is best to service the validator/recycler combo? You, or someone else?

BTW, my cash sales are only a fraction of what my credit sales are.

Anyone go Credit Card Only on their vending machine? (39 item AMS)
