MEI VN2512U3 coin box validator problem

One of my guys’s called me this morning and he’s pulling his hair out trying to figure out what the problem is with 2 of our MEI VN2512U3 coin box validators. The validators are only about 3 years old, clean, and appear to be in good condition. The red LED light is steady On in the back of the validator. When you go to put a bill in the validator will pull the bill in part way and you can hear motors running and then the validator shuts off, sometimes the bill gets stuck inside the validator, sometimes it comes back out enough that you can pull the bill back out. Any ideas?

The red flashing light should have a sequence to it like 3 fast flashes and then 1. These flashes are codes telling you what is wrong with the validator. Randy generally has these codes on hand and can tell you what they mean. You should be able to go Mars website and get the flash codes to determine what is wrong.
