Keep in mind though that metal halides lose the majority of their light output before they fail, so comparing 400W metal halides at end-of life to a 150W LED is not an accurate comparison.

The problem is LEDs also lose brightness.... I believe everyone would prefer if the LEDs they purchase were Cree LEDs. I believe they are the best or use to be?
But according to Cree's document.... L90 can be from 35,000 - 50,000 hours. L70 can be the same on the same LEDs 35,000 - 50,000 hours of use. Some around 15,000 hours for L90 and L70.... some more 60,000. If they are not using Cree probably less?
Basically 30% loss in 35,000 - 50,000 hours. Also the Jarvis SCRT-320 has a LED driver or power supply which is basically the same as a ballast. The LEDs have to have it for the light to work.

I replaced my MH with LED floodlights maybe 3 years ago. 2x 50W LED for each 400W MH.
I bought all my LEDs floodlights from a local supplier except one. This one I bought from Ebay.
About 15% of the local ones died within 3years. The Ebay one also died. There is no real difference between the local and Ebay ones except the price. I am ordering now all LEDs from Ebay for about $50.
If I would do it again I would get a power point installed and would buy the LED floodlights with cable and plug.

We have tried the retrofit kit for the Scottsdales and they work well also. However, you're left with the massive box of the Scottsdale which most likely has peeling paint and looks bad. Cost wise you may as well get a new clean looking fixture. Also, if you get the Scottsdale kit make sure you actually have Scottsdales. I bought a kit for one location only to find out the fixture was a Scottsdale knockoff and had to do a bunch of grinding and cutting to get the kit to close properly.
Whichever route you take, retro kit or new fixture, you will be happy with the results. And for the price, it makes no sense to spend $150 on some LED screw in light bulb.
