Must post CC manually?

Twice in the last few weeks my ACW (Goldline) has stopped taking CC. I had to use my handheld to post manually.

The first time it was smooth. The second time it wouldn't post and took a long time to say post was incomplete.

I cycled the power to the machine and re-tried and it posted and CC acceptance came back to normal.

What would be causing this?

It may be an issue with the phone line. Next time it happens, call Hamilton and have them dial in to find out why it didn't post.

The last time ours did the same thing, I called Hamilton. By the time I got through to a tech, they had already picked up on the failed post, dialed in and corrected some issue. If I hadn't called them I would never have known they did something to fix it.

It could be the phone line. The only piece of equipment you want to be on the phone line is the ACW, no pager, no answering machine, nothing. The reason for this is Hamilton will call your ACW with updates or changes to the system. If they can’t dial in you don’t get the updates and they can’t fix any problems from there end.

It could also be your EIC is going bad. Pray that it isn’t the EIC, those babies are expensive to get repaired. If you need one I’ve got one that has been recon’d by Hamilton.
