Have you tried to trouble shoot with http://www.idxinc.com/troubleshoot.htm and http://www.idxinc.com/field.htm? I've had some problems with the X10 for a hamilton goldline and the MA800.

A few things I'd check:

- make sure that the acceptor/faceplate is aligned correctly (some nitwit tried to break into two of my vacs and the end result was vandalism/bent faceplate).
- make sure that the acceptor/coin chute is clean.
- make sure that nothing is impeding/stuck in the gate (it doesn't take much to throw it off).
- check wire connections.
- go through the learn coin procedure again.

Good luck.

Check the screw on center of the electromagnet on the side of the coin acceptor, it operates the shoe that allows the coins to drop into machine once they are accepted. DO NOT!! Try to take a MA-800 or X-10 from a coin box and install it into an ACW. The MA-800 and X-10 that are used in the ACW’s are a different model number in most ACW's. The true model number of the coin acceptor is a white tag at the top of the coin acceptor when you’re looking down at it. I talked to IDX yesterday, needed a RMA number to send a coin acceptor in for repair. The lead time to get a coin acceptor repaired is 8 to 10 weeks!!! They are currently in the process of moving to a larger building, so they have a new address.

Had the same problem once on my WSII. It also gave credits when I closed the door or hit the front face at a certain spot. Found a short that kept grounding out. Check all the wires and all the connections (wire nuts, shrink wrap) to see if something has rotted out or got pinched. Keep us posted.
