I own an express car wash with self vacuums in southern california. I don't know if the industry is slowing down, but my wash count is dropping fast. I know winter is approaching, but for the past 2-3 weeks, our wash count and revenue dropped by nearly 40%... and the weather is sunny but slightly chilly ... I even checked out my new express wash competitor nearly 1.5 miles away and competitor is slow as well. The full service car washes nearby are nearly dying out based on what I observed. For the business and marketing side of things, we are cheapest in town and we improved web presence. I also check/fix and make sure all the equipment is working daily and I wash my car first everyday to ensure it is ready for public business.

For any express car wash owners or anyone who wants to chime in.... is business slowing down for everyone? Any advice or input would be greatly appreciated because I don't think I've experienced this huge of a drop off since I converted to an express wash couple years ago.

If you are in la, the last month of playoffs and World Series with Dodgers may have something to do it. I noticed same with self service, this week should pick up I bet. But if you are near a fast 5 express wash I would be concerned. They run a great express, just built one in Pasadena and I was talking to them while building. They have a few locations that do well over 1400 washes a day...
