New contactor

I grabbed a couple of the Fuji electric contactors with thermal overload relays and am finally now getting ready to replace a bad one in my pump rack. This old Sprecher has a jumper going from A2 to 95, do I do the same on the new one? What is this for? On the new thermal overload relay 95 is 3rd from the left not the 1st terminal, so do I put it in 98 instead or still go A2 to 95? Just don't wanna fry something, thanks!

Yes, wire up according to the numbers, not the terminal position.

A1 and A2 are your coil inputs. If you put 24V on them the coil would energize and pull in the contactor, allowing power to flow to the motor. When using an overload one of your 24 V legs (usually neutral)goes through the overload in the NC contacts and acts as the safety. If the overload senses too much energy is being drawn it will trip and open that circuit, which will de-energize the coil.
