New Display for AMS SENSIT II

Waxman

Super Moderator
Hi everyone

The display for my Vending Machine, AMS Sensit II Visi Combo is super dim.

Is there a replacement / upgrade that you know of, like the Dixmor displays? What have you done in this case?

Thanks!

I got a new membrane switch from Betson recently, Eric pointed me in their direction. Looks like this is the part you need, $142, but I didnt confirm the part number: display-2-line-16-character
They were very helpful on the phone, they're up in your area too.

Some of my motors seem a bit weak, they dont spin if I fill the entire spiral. Made me wonder recently whether our shur-vends are approaching that used-car age where I'll be replacing a bunch of parts. Hope not.

I used Betson also for new displays and the green uv blocker panel that goes on the door. be sure to get both when you order. They also sell the motors.

If you get the Noritake part number from the display....you can save a lot of money by purchasing the raw part online (as compared to a vending machine servicing company).

I purchased a display for my Sensit 3 on eBay for $35 (Nortiake raw part), compared to the $150 the AMS branded part.

BTW....I did, however, have to solder a header on the raw display. If you don't know how to solder....purchase the part ready to drop in.

Try searching for this:

Noritake Itron CU16025-UW6J

I think that's the part number. (Double check please).

Mouser has them for $63....and eBay even less.

The only problem with buying just the bare display is you have to find someone to solder it onto the AMS Board after you un-solder the old display off the AMS Board. It's to bad AMS hasn't come up with a LED display and gotten rid of the VFD display. The direct sunlight will punk out a VFD display in no time if you don't have a UV filter on it.

Randy,

I wonder if the job would require an industrial lab grade grounded soldering station to prevent potential cmos damage???
