What Friction IBA"s will fit in an existing 15'x30' bay? That's a problem with most new machines, the ones that are 15+ years old the bay did not have to be any larger!

How do you like the M22? What unit did you replace? Are you washing more cars? Whats your wash costs and average ticket?

I actually sell them, not so much operate. We replaced a rusted out Mark7/Wesumat soft wash. (The heat and humidity down here in FL can be brutal). Average ticket prices are around $9. Highest wash is $12. Cost for the most expensive wash is around a dollar. I figure the water, elec and chemicals are around $0.50 and the rest towards depreciation/maintenance. The customers seem to love them. It's common to have customers come up to the owner and compliment them on the wash.

Mac, do you have a ballpark on the purchase and installation on the m22? Looking at differant options, did you consider the pdq tandem or the washworld friction? Im really torn between installing a express tunnel or a new friction wash. Have 2, 14 year old DS 5000's and want to reboot. Price I have gotten on the 40' express with ICS entry system, doors and 6 new vacs is over 350k.

Istobal has been on a constant commitment to improve the M22. Some of the recent changes are to a 100% duty cycle motor, which shaves time off the wash and lets them give a 2 year warranty on parts. They have tweaked the options so that you can offer a top wash with lots of bling that only takes about 6 minutes. There are some nice features such as when a pickup is being washed, the machine knows it's a pickup and turns off the top blowers when going over the bed. And look, lets face it. Anything new and complicated can and will have some initial issues. Istobal has been very supportive, at least with me, on making sure the machine performs as promised. I have not seen anything that will out clean a vehicle. It will put many traditional US machines to shame. A new M22 with most of the options will run around 125K to 140K. That includes freight, installation, and sales tax. And in case you missed it, our benevolent government has increased the tax write off time so you can write it off in one year. It's just nice to have the machine email you with an issue, and you being able to access it from a smart phone or PC and reset it, make changes, or give a customer a free wash. It is also nice to know that the main company in Spain is privately owned, and has no debt. When you look at the manufacturers that went belly up during the last recession, that can make a difference. If any one is down in FL and wants to see one, just let me know. You can customize it with graphics and brushes to make it your machine.
