We added some graphics and tweaked the operating system a little before taking the vendor on its maiden voyage to a real car wash operator in California to get some feedback and suggestions on our design. Please see the latest pix of this vendor in the Photo Gallery: http://autocareforum.biz/photogallery/index.php?cat=4
One thing we have learned over the years is that each wash site has its own unique list of car wash products that sell and each operator has their own way of doing business.
Our original design goals were to build a stand-alone, 18-selection, high security vendor that is aesthetically pleasing, will vend the 13 top selling car wash products, can be installed in or near the vacuum islands on a wash site, be simple to operate, take all forms of payment, be flexible enough to accommodate the unique "needs" of the wash site and/or the operator, and be able to sell it at a very competitive price.
I spent about an hour with this operator showing the unique features of this vendor and asking what "needs" had to be addressed to make it work at that wash site. I was given a list of "needs" that this operator wanted to make the vendor work, and we are able to meet all of the "needs" with a few adjustments in the building of the machine.
The vendor passed its first test is is now ready to offer to wash operators everywhere.
