We have been asked in the past years if the keypad could be lighted; we have always had to tell them no. Now we can say “yes” to all customers. As we recently posted AMS has developed a new vendor style called the EPOCH which is now in production. The lighted keypad is numeric and only works with the S-3 control board and Version 1.35 software in the Epoch. All the older S-1 and S-2 control boards will not operate this lighted keypad, but we have developed Upgrade Kits for all these older vendors. This change over may look complicated and difficult, but we include step by step instructions in the Upgrade Kit for you to follow.
O.K., as a ShurVend owner, how do I find out what software I have in my machine? Easy to do. Turn the power off to the vendor and then turn it back on while looking at the display on the front. The first thing that appears is the Sensit I, Sensit II, or Sensit III designation with the version appearing after that. Now that you know the Sensit number, we need to know whether your machine is Alpha-Numeric (Letters and Numbers) or all Numeric (Numbers only).
If you have a numeric vendor, which includes all ShurVend Junior RL & FL and the VendPro-iG4’s, the upgrade to the lighted keypad is relatively easy; install a new S-3 control board (We will program the control board options and a $1 price on each column) to replace the S-2 one, remove the mask and/or escutcheon, replace the old keypad in the escutcheon with the lighted keypad, re-install the escutcheon and mask on the door, configure the motors and change the pricing of your products that are different than
