Just came back from SECWA trade show. Jerry Truelove had a video of a modification to a friction machine that was eligible for install on them or the 2.0s. I believe they referred to it as a "wing". It's basically an installation of low pressure arches on the unit to perform rinse, CCP and spot free all in one pass. He claims a time savings of 1:20 on the wash package. I'm short on details now but will update when I hear more.

Just thought I'd make you guys aware of this. I know thirty seconds seems like forever when I'm waiting in line. IMO, 1:20 time savings is huge

I've seen tunnels that use a similar application.

The way I have our Vector set up, it takes nearly 8 minutes for the top wash including the dry. I'd love to shave 1:20 off that time.

Just a few second video of this. As you can see it is simple three low pressure arches mounted on the gantry.

I have experimented in the past with applying CCP and spot free on the same pass on a 1.0 and have had disappointing results getting the water to break. However, I was putting SFR out the regular nozzles and I just don't think there was adequate time between CCP application and spot free. Someone told me that some Mark VII machines "shoot" CCP out in front of the gantry with nozzles. I have never watched that so can't confirm.

On a 1.0 I do currently have a low pressure CCP that I engineered. I tax the wax output into a dual throw relay that cuts power off to the motor contactor. For rinse you could tie into a solenoid plumbed to a 8 GPM sonny's arch during rinse and just open it for a low pressure rinse. There is a reclaim output you could utilize if you don't need it.

Bottom line, if it uses less water and saves time, but does not impair wash quality, I'm all for it.

Pricing has not been established for this option yet.

Seems to look and work like PDQ's Flashdry system. I have seen it and it does a pretty good job while cutting down on wash time. It would be important to use a good sealant/drying agent. I have also seen good results with a type of rain arch setup with a supersealant added to the final rinse.

cut on time..but that looks like a lot of water usage. Is that for final rinse & wax & spotfree?

Nest time you're in a drive through start a stopwatch. You'll be amazed at how slow the time passes. 1:00 is friggin' forever when you're waiting in line.

lol you dont need a stopwatch for fusionX...its slow enough for a regular watch. i understand 1 minute is a long time, but you have to look at the ratio. Shaving off 1 minute on a 8 minute pass isnt much.
Our top wash which has 8 passes complete cycle runs around 8 minutes. Now stack that up to 4 cars , that means the last car has to wait ~24 minutes??? cut 3 minutes from that ...geez 21 minutes, that was time saver...not! i have never seen more than 5 car stacked. They usually leave 'cause of the wait.
