It recently became obvious to us that our Vending Formula needed to be updated with new information. We moved “Location and Visibility” up to Priority #1 & #2 since this is the key to high vending sales. Security is still very important to safeguard the money and products, but all the security in the world will not lead to high vending sales if the vendor is not visible to the customer at the wash. Here is the new version of our vending Formula:
Vending Sales Formula = L V S P R T C
“L”& “V”—LOCATION and VISIBILITY are two sides of the same coin and are Priorities #1 & #2 when installing a vendor for high sales volume. The vendor should have “End Aisle” exposure for high visibility to make the customer take notice. Our experience indicates that the best vendor location is in or near the vacuum area of the wash site. A location at the end of one of the vacuum islands near the center of the vacuum grouping is preferred.
“S”—SECURITY (Priority #3) of the vendor from theft and vandalism is dictated by the installation of the vendor in a HIGH VISIBILITY LOCATION as prescribed above. The wash operator needs to have confidence that his/her vending products, sales, and profits are not stolen or the vendor put “Out of Service” due to vandalism. The current versions of our ShurVend security systems, which keep improving all the time, have been found to be very effective.
“P”—PRODUCTS available for selection is Priority #4. Experience over many years has proven that more product choices always produce higher sales volume in a vending center.
“R”---RELIABILITY of the vending machine is Priority #5. Our vendor operates continuously (24/7/365) requiring very little attention from the owner other than collecting the money and restocking with product. The “Guaranteed Delivery” feature makes the vending experience hassle free for both the customer and the owner.
