Was sitting around one day last week in the wash office, and looking at the open door to an older Standard changer. All was working. I thought since one side did most of the business, I would swap the hoppers. Was around 11 AM. So swapped them and one side stopped working. Talked to many people about repair or replacement. After 3 hours both sides had died. Factory said no one there knew about these older changers. What do you mean? Turns out it was 25 to 28 years old. The wash is only 19 years old. Well this was another case of that putrid Barry Boyd. He sold a lot of stuff as new when it wasn’t. Now early afternoon on Thur with a killer weekend coming up. Only option left was to drive across FL to American Changer. 2 1/2 hours said the GPS. They had one in stock and would stay a little late for me. GPS said only 10 miles away with a few minutes to spare. Then I hit Miami evening rush hour traffic. And I really had to pee. Got there 40 minutes after their closing time and they were waiting for me. American Changer has some great people. so after a hot meal made it back and home in bed by 11 PM. God I love this business.
