My spot free rinse stopped working in one bay this weekend.

It works fine in the IBA and other SS bay.

I checked the wires in the meter box and they look fine.

What next? Wiring in plc? Solenoid in sfr setup? Hose in trough?

Tackling this tomorrow. Thanks!

Is the pump coming on when the spot-free is switched on? If so, it's not the wiring. Check the solenoid to see if it's energized, check for flow on the outlet of the solenoid, then make sure the check valve at the boom isn't stuck closed.

It’s probably something very simple. I’d be on it today. A bay that’s not functioning 100% is unsatisfactory or a bay that’s shut down with a cone in it any longer than 12 hours is unsatisfactory. As your equipment gets older you can expect these types of problems.

When I first started, I was a little overwhelmed with the whole set up and so I created some function, control and electrical diagrams in order to look at problems visually and better understand how things worked. Here's my SFR diagram. Hopefully it helps.

good diagram!

here's what I know from troubleshooting: the solenoid is activating as normal and spot free is pumping out (removed feed hose for bay w/no spot free and when activated, spot free came out at solenoid).

I guess I will go up overhead now and see what is happening above the boom.

update;

problem is fixed. it was a malfunctioning check valve above the boom in the bay.

i took it off and cleaned it out really well and got it freed up. i then reinstalled it and now have spot free again!

I would recommend replacing it - check valves are cheap, problems are not.

I?m with MEP on this one, replace it. If it?s a Brass check valve I?d replace it with a Stainless steel one. Once they hang up they?ll hang up again usually on a Friday night or busy Saturday.
