Fellow & future self serve car wash operators,

I happened to stumble onto the following relatively new website that I thought I would share since it is relevant to especially to the self service format among us.* *https://cashessentials.org/news/

I really think they are fulfilling a need for having a more balanced perspective when it comes to payment method choices within especially the wand style self service part of our industry.* Hopefully it will help more of us on our journey to include &/or continue to include dollar coins as an option ... & possibly the best option for some of us.

This showed up on my computer screen today: https://www.socash.io/

I don't agree with them based on over 6 years of great reliability experience with owning our own ATM. It is interesting though that it could mean that the "100% cashless people" are not calling all the shots a bit too much! It appears that 7 Eleven Gas-Convenience Stores are on board?

Interesting concept but it looks like it is just in Singapore.

Good catch. What caught my eye was the 7-11 factor since there are over 66K worldwide & over 8K of them in the USA: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/7-Eleven

No reason to "jump to conclusions" as to how its impact will be on availability of cash worldwide & other considerations. It is even harder to say exactly since the 7-11 parent company is Japanese owned??? That fact reminded me of when some years ago our highly touted BOBCAT manufacturing rooted here in North Dakota sold to a South Korean Company. Of course ... 10s of billions of dollars were involved from what what I heard from relative who still works administratively for them. Currently ... like I said Melroe-Bobcat now has its parent company as Doosan.

I am not sure as to how many if any 7-11s also include some car washing??? I am not a big city dude like some others on this specific forum.

It look like there are 8,421 7-elevens in the US but still that is a lot. I did not know that Bobcat was Korean owned but it looks like they bought them in 2007.
