Looking to install a washworld Razor - aside from a strong paystation that will do everything including cooking my breakfast - does anyone have a strong recommendation to work with this IBA - My facility is un manned - So I need to think stupid here - If people can screw things up at an unattended car wash facility they will - The machine needs to be as simple / clean / easy as possible with all the features needed to upsell at an IBA.

My current unit is an older AC 8001 - The footprint of this unit is limiting.. I have a brick masonry encasement area for a retrofit - However I do not want to limit the customer experience just thinking all this costs $$. Do I need a unit that makes change via bill's vs.. spitting out quarters and tokens - do customers really value this? If I go a different route other than what will fit in that encasement - I need to tear down the brick and mortar and start new with a more expensive machine.. Any advice here on what has given you success - Just want to do the right thing for the customer as well as be cost conscious.

A unitec Wash Select 2. With a Mars validator, high speed internet,CC reader. Voice feature. Is as tough as the WashWorld your putting in. The true workhorse paystation of the IBA industry it sets the standard in my opinion and I am sure other operators can say the same. A brand new one 8-12K instailed. You can find them used and I do know a fellow that will sell you one if interested. Pay your local brick guy $600 and tell him to tear down old one and brick in new one. As for dispensing change for a $20 bill your gonna spend 20k+ for a paystation and being able to up sell each package. It's really up to you on how much you want to spend for a new one. Do you want it like a Tunnel wash or a IBA ?

You definitely need to stop dispensing quarters as change. That irritates the dog $h!t out of people. I can't understand why washes do that. At the least, you should dispense dollar coins. I've been dispensing them for 17 years and get lots of 20s. I have one auto with a Hamilton HTK which dispenses ones and fives. The reason my other six autos don't dispense bills was stated by TDL, 20K per auto.

How much are you wanting to spend on this piece of equipment that will do everything? I know a guy who's got a nice Goldline ACW he wants to sell.

I am just finishing up putting a wash together with a high velocity and we put in a new Unitec Portal Ti. I hope it was worth the $$ spent. I wanted to have the capability to dispense bills and coin, and the flexibility to add future upgrades. Hoping to power it up and play around with it this week.
I have a Hamilton Goldline at my other facility and its been very dependable.

pgrzes,
I'm new to the industry and working on building my first wash, the Unitec Portal Ti is on my short list...Just curious, if you currently own a Hamilton Goldline (which I'm not familiar with) but has been dependalbe, why the move to Unitec?

Also, did you look at or consider any of the Access Pay stations, primarily their S model....granted, it has the shortcoming of not being able to dispense both bills and coins. :-/

Thanks..

I have 2 Unitec Sentinels that I bought on the advice of my distributor. In my opinion Unitec is pretty far behind most of the other manufacturers in technology.
The thing I was most impressed with at the show (I just got back today) was the ability for a paystation to sell a gift card directly to the customer. The customer selects the dollar amount and the autocashier programs it and dispenses it to the customer, I don't have to be involved at all. DRB, ICS, EZwash and some others have this option but Unitec does not and has no plans to implement it.

Does anyone have an EZWash paystation? Their unit seemed to be the most customizable. I do not recall ever hearing their name mentioned her on the forum.

Discussions with people, something that could do a bit more then my Goldline, Unitec is not to far from me that if I had to go to them to get parts, I could drive there in an emergency. ICS was a strong favorite, but the price was more than I wanted to spend.
Eric,
I wonder that with DRB And Unitec being combined if things will change about them being behind? I hope so.
