Any other operators have this little problem yesterday? Normally at midnight, my two access machines will post the credit card batches to VITAL (the CC clearing house) and send me a summary report of credit card sales for the day. Tuesdays posting worked for the one access unit, but failed for the other.

I stopped and tried manually posting the batch, and it says that is also failed. I tried to "ping" vital from the diagnostics menu, and both units failed.

I called my distributor and I was the 12th operator that had called with the same problem. They contacted PDQ and there were also others who had the same problem. I was told to contact VITAL via an 800 number, tell them about the problem and that there was a "quarantined batch" error that was causing communications to fail. I did that, they checked everything on their end and said, "we dont see any problems it must be related to your Access software."

Lastnight, the batch from Wednesdays sales didnt post either. So now I've got two days of credit card sales that havent gone through and am desperate to figure out how to fix this. I called back to my distributor this morning and they were going to contact VITAL and try to figure it out.

It's discouraging when something like this happens (totally out of your control) and you have to deal with 3 different parties (Bank, VITAL, PDQ) that point the responsibility at the others. My distributor says that other operators have been fixed, so he's not sure why VITAl couldnt help me.

Any of you have this same issue, and were you able to get it remedied?

Those "sons a b*tches!!"

My distributor just called and told me that PDQ has been working on this feverishly for the last day and a half and determined that VITAL had made a software upgrade to their system and as of Tues at 12:01am, none of the PDQ access machines could communicate with the VITAL system to post the credit cards batches. VITAL continued to deny any responsibility for causing the problem.

So PDQ has developed a patch, posted it on their distributor website and now a technician is on his way to download it to my access machines. If any of you have had the same problem, you may want to contact your dist. to get the upgrade.

Scott,

Is this the new system PDQ is promoting?

PDQ marketing wrote:Using add-on credit card acceptance products may result in potential problems such as security issues, higher transaction rates, and limited technical support. Security may be at risk without having the knowledge of how the system was designed. When problems arise, they may not be fixed quickly if the software vendor has other obligations, or a lack of resources to resolve the issue.

Thanks,
Mark

This is completely different RykoPro. What you quoted relates to PABP software.

Thats what I realized after I reread the post. Is the software you previosly provided the customer not PABP compliant?

I am suprised PDQ would use a non compliant software supplier. The software Ryko suppiles is PABP compliant.

Let me rephrase my last statement. You were correct in saying the older production software was not PABP compliant, however the current production software, released back in June, is PABP compliant.

Secondly, I don't see Ryko on the list for being PABP compliant. Is there another name that your system goes under?

Ryko is not in the credit card processing software business. They use PABP compliant software supplied by others. This allows the customer to use any processing company they would like, as opposed to being limited to a select few.
