In your climate I would defiantly go with a Oasis since their machine has a heated system integrated with it. They do not rely on just doors to keep it from freezing like a petit does. Also it is way FASTER then a Petit. Give Oasis a call they will take care of you.

I think calling something way faster needs some context because # of wash passes and how a machine is configured has a lot to do with whether one machine is faster than the other. They are both fast machines.

I would also weight equipment reliability into the equation and talk to at least 2 or 3 owners of each of those machines. Ask about how many parts they have had to replace over a 2-3 year period, ask about overall reliability, etc.

Consider # of moving parts & consider serviceability. Not all machines are like the other.

Once you have done your research choose the most reliable option...to me, that will always be the machine with less moving parts & less complexity.

Thank you for validating my point. The petit is only “fast” because of its configuration and passes. When you put two or three chemicals on at the same time then you reduce the number of passes needed. If you took a water wizard or a razor and did the same they would be practically the same speed as a petit.

To determine which machine is faster and by how much you would need to know the time it takes to do a single pass. A petit takes 30 - 40 seconds to complete one pass. A typhoon takes 10-15 seconds max. That’s twice as fast right there. On a top wash I do 14 passes in three minutes. If I set it up like a petit my top was would be under 1 min 30 secs but I don’t because that’s not the right way to clean a car by using multiple products at once with the minimal amount of passes. That’s the way to lie to your customers to make them believe you have the fastest automatic out there.

Go set up your petit withe the same configuration of passes as a typhoon with let’s say 14 passes and you will realize you have a 6-7 minute wash just like a razor.

Do you understand now why I called a typhoon way faster?

if not here’s a video to help you understand.

As far as reliability I don’t own a petit so I can’t tell you nor do I care. I would never buy a machine that I can’t maximize my profit with.

Oasis is a family owned business who has been around for more than 40 years. There not machines bought from china. Almost all the manufactures in US make good IBA everyone has there pros and cons

I’ve done my research buddy and maybe you should do yours. I’ll stick with my machines that I’ll configure to run in the same amount of time as yours with twice as many passes and more chemical and high pressure options. That combined with good chemistry certainly puts out a cleaner car and faster wash. Oh and it’s also heated for the winter. Kind of a big deal. Anyone running any machine in a cold climate understands that.

Hello,

I'm curious to learn more about the specific Chinese brands you mentioned in the "china portion" of your post.

If you were discussing Petit machines, I believe they are manufactured in Ohio and have a reputation for reliability. Many owners appreciate their durability and the availability of standardized parts.

It's important to note that not all products from China are of poor quality. Many reputable brands source components or manufacture products in China with high standards.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences.

Fun post.
RapiDoll, i think what Blanco means is Oasis is all American, including the family owned biz.
I own a Petit. It's a US company , reliable, & faster than my Razor Edge.
Im seriously considering doing an Oasis Typhoon in my next iBA.
Yeh, that's 3 different companies, but ohbwell...

Hello sir,

When I mentioned Chinese machines I was referring to actually machines made in China (CBK and others) that sell for 30-50K. They are absolutely JUNK and a complete waste of money. Oasis, Washworld, Petit, and most AMERICAN manufactures make great machines. They all have there pros and cons. They ALL use STANDARDIZED PARTS. That not a just Petit thing.

You mentioned reliability is what Petit owners tell you. Petit is not any more reliable then an Oasis or a Washworld. In fact it has more differant moving parts. You can talk to a wash world owner that has a 20 year old machine and he will tell you it's a POS and it breaks down every day. Then you can speak to a wash world owner that has a brand new machine less than two years old and he will tell you it's great its only broke down once. All the petit owners are still in their honeymoon phase and it's probably the first new machine they ever bought after replacing an old one that broke down all the time. These machines have not been around long enough to determine that their reliability is so great. A petit has rollers, hoses, and other wearable parts just like any other manufacture. Over time they will wear and tear. There is nothing special about their "reliability" that sets them apart from the rest other then what the sales people tells their customers.

I completely agree with you that not all Chinese products are poor. To me there is good Chinese and bad Chinese. When something costs 1/4 to an 1/8 of the price from China there is a reason why. My Iphone is made in China and costs me $1500. I can buy a Chinese made off brand for $200 but I dont. It's not the same. It might look like it but it's not the same quality. Same with the CBK. They look like a Washworld but nowhere close to being one.

Thats a good thing. You will have the experience and knowledge of all 3 machines. It's all about choices. I asked my wife about me having 3 differant girlfriends the other night. Bad choice. Didn't turn out how I thought it would. 👊 🤷‍♂️🤣

Petit is not any more reliable then an Oasis or a Washworld.
Do you have any actual hard evidence to base this on? Are you a distributor who services multiple pieces of equipment and can compare which requires higher service rates?

I think as a group of car wash owners we should be working towards a factual based answer here.

Everyone is going to have an opinion based on the equipment that they personally run...

You should go check the machine at the factory that has 2.8 million cars on it. Again you refer to Petit bias but don't reference your own anti Petit bias.

Every time I give you facts you ignore them. How is everything I told you not factual based? Let's remember how this thread started. OP is in a cold climate state. I simply gave him what I believe which is great advice that a petit is not heated and this is not the first time that comment to cold climate owners has triggered you. I KNOW 99% of owners in cold climate states want a heated machine. You didn't like that but you couldn't say anything about it because you know its true. Instead then you question me without having any knowledge for calling Oasis way faster. I gave you facts to that with support evidence but you didn't like that either so you ignored them all the sudden didn't care about speed anymore and then turn the conversation to reliability. Ive already explained to you that there are more moving parts and also a lot of the same moving parts ALL IBA's have. I dont care what your salesperson told you but your machine is not made by JESUS CHRIST. IT WILL WEAR AND TEAR OVER THE YEARS JUST LIKE ANY OTHER MACHINE. THERE IS NOTHING SPECIAL ABOUT ITS RELIABILITY.

DID I SAY ONE TIME THAT A PEITIT IS A POS? DID I SAY IT WAS GARBAGE? I DIDNT EVEN SAY I DONT LIKE THEM. I simply stated the machine has no heating system and Is slower then the Oasis. ALL FACTS. Im sorry your salesperson told you otherwise and made you believe you were buying the Ferrari of automatics.

To answer your question YES, I am a distributor of multiple car wash companies. To answer your next question NO OASIS is not one of them so I have nothing to gain here by speaking TRUTH and FACTS. I have serviced and installed quite a few different manufacturers over the years.

Yes do I like Oasis because I personally run them of course thats why I chose them after dealing with different companies. Theres are things I dont like about them that I argue with them. I dont believe every machine they make is just absolutely the greatest thing ive ever seen. Thats the difference between us.

This is twice now where I commented to help someone and advise them to get a heated machine. And instead of you using common sense and being like oh ya blanco has good point maybe your door gets run into or breaks down and now your screwed because your 250K machine will freeze within a half hour. Instead you go full groupie as if I'm talking about your child or something. OH WHAT A STUPID COMMENT DOORS NEVER FAIL BLAH BLAH. YEA WELL CUSTOMERS DO AND DOORS DO. Everyone that has doors knows this. Im also a door distributor too and have installed and sold MORE roll ups THEN YOUVE SEEN. THEY FAIL AND ALWAYS AT THE WORST TIMES. Sometimes it is a customer running into them or sometimes a photo eye gets blocked by snow/ice and the doors stay open. Sometimes it's something random. The point is you want insurance and thats what a heated machine gives you.

Ya and how many parts/hoses you think they changed on it in 2.8 million washes? If you answer none or a few then like I already know you have no real world experience in servicing a car wash. BTW times any number you think it is by 25-50 since 90% of those 2.8 million were guaranteed dry washes with no water or chemical. Just because the computer says 2.8 million that doesn't mean anything. Sorry they played you on that.

How am I anti petit? Once again if you can read ive never said the machines were garbage. I just said they are slow, non heated, and not as reliable as they make you think.

You only consider me biased because you dont like the FACTS. You just cant handle the truth.

If I have any bias and if I'm anti petit at all it's not the MACHINE it's the sales people.

CUSTOMER:
I WANT TO BUY A PETIT

SALES PERSON:
OH ITS SO FAST COME VISIT OUT FACTORY

CUSTOMER:
WOW 2.8 MILLION WASHES THATS AMAZING SO RELIABLE

SALES PERSON:
NEXT STOP - UNITED AUTO WASH
NEXT STOP - DENCAR
NEXT STOP - SYNERGY
NEXT STOP - MULTI MILLIONAIRE
ALL PASSIVE INCOME

LAST STOP - A DISTRIBUTOR INSTALLING YOUR 250K MACHINE WITH 1/2" TAPCONS LMAOOOO

Dont believe everything salespeople and manufactures tell you. You're just a sale. Nothing else after.

Ok Colonel Jessup "I cant handle the truth"

Universally agreed upon fact no one likes sales people.

I actually do know how much was spent on replacement parts for that 2.8 million machine because I asked the operator. No one claimed 0.

We get it you like Oasis. Alot of people do. There are alot people that bought Oasis then bought Petit then there are people that bought Petit then Oasis and this might be crazy there are people who bought PDQ and Washworld and Ryko.

A common theme is your bias. Multiple people point it out.

Seems like Colonel you cant handle the truth.
