What is the best type of insulation to use on hot water pipes?

I like the black foam that is split down the center.

That's what I was thinking. Do you know of somewhere where I can buy it in bulk vs. having to piece it together from Home Depot or a similar store?

Rubber Pipe Insulation

Try using the rubber based pipe insulation with the slit down the middle. I tried the foam, but the rubber is much thicker with better insulation values and also very flexible. I believe it's rated to -70 degrees.
