Had someone Graffitti my 10 year old red plastic Coleman Vac Top.

Nothing seemed to remove the graffiti, so I got some rustoleom Red Spray paint for plastic sold at Home Depot, and just painted over it. Now you could really see how the things had faded over the years. So I painted them all. Look better than new.

Does the illumination still show through once painted? Or did you just go without having them lit?

We painted a bunch of these a few years ago because of fading. The light wont shine as brightly ,but I just unhooked the lights because they were a big pain in the butt to keep running anyway.

Rustoleum paint sucks. It goes on smooth and looks good, but it's like rubber and will peel right off.

Iused a very light coat which is all that was needed to freshen up the look, so the light shines through.

They make a product that you can get at the automotive paint stores called marhyde. This is a dye that is used for plastic and vinyl. We have used it in changing the color of booths and barstools in a club we remodeled. Most automotive trim comes in black or white and you have to marhyde it to match the car interior color when you rebuild them.
