Every now and then I run into something that's a real head scratcher. This Power Rain is about 4 years old. What is happening is that when the top bar drops at the front of the car it sometimes just sits there in the full down position and does not move. This happens only on high pressure. When applying presoak it works fine, and in the test mode it works fine. If the car backs off the inplace switch when this is happening and then goes back on, it will finish the wash. Have checked most all the usual suspects, i.e. down prox switch, loose wires, bad blood, etc. Any ideas?

Powerain issue

Mac:

If your sensor is working, you have to screw it in a few turns .Your top bar track is worn and when the pressure is on, it pushes the bar away from the sensor. This has happened on all my powerains .

Jimbo, thanks for the reply. I was told that and to check it out I lowered the top bar to see how much play was in it in the lowered position, and there was absolutely none. I went and moved the prox in anyway, so we'll see if that fixes it. I sure wish PowerRain had built that without all those fasteners just to remove a panel. Have you found a way to position the hoses to the top bar so that they don't rub on anything?

Mac, you should be able to buy spiral hose wrap from your local hydraulic repair shop. They should have it for 1/4 hose up to 6" for bundling. For single hose temporary protection, i cut off a piece of 1/2" water hose, split it,then zip tie it around the hose. This usually ends up as a permanent fix.
Another sensor you might have trouble with ,if you haven't yet, is your end of track sensor. As the track and wheels wear out, you will have to raise it up or it wii drag and short out
