One of my customers has a four year old one of these and the General pump is leaking water AND oil. The pump is a model CW1541. I'm guessing it needs new seals. This pump has two heads on it, sort of like the old circus freaks in the side shows. Have any of you had this done, or did it yourself? Just how hard was it? The General pump web site sucks. No phone number to call and talk to a person, just a generic email form. Any advice greatly appreciated. I'm trying to avoid one of those situations where you have the heart of a machine all torn down and you're on your hands and knees looking for that little spring that popped out.

It's fairy easy to replace seals in a CW1541. There are no little springs to "pop out" except for in the valve assemblies, and as a rule they don't come apart when you remove the valve.

Replace the oil seals and the plunger bolt kits as well as the high/low pressure seal kit, valve o-rings, head ring kit and seal retainer o-ring, and barring any other crankcase issues or washed out manifolds the pump will be good as new.
