My friend runs a hardware store.
He wants to work for a better company than his current company.
He is a knowledgeable salesman, hard working manager and can close sales with great success, whether its nuts bolts and hardware or a $1500 pellet stove.
I spoke to him about the idea of setting a goal and cementing it by writing it down.
Then he said what I though was quite profound:
" Goal setting is great and you should do it and write down your goals. But eveybody forgets that in order to get to the goal you've also gotta write down and do all the little steps necessary that work toward your goal. You need to write down then do: 're-organize tool storage, take out trash and things like that.'"
He said it all, I think.
