Pre Hung Steel door supplier

48" wide exterior steel door to equipment room and Jamb are corroded badly and need to be replaced.

Thought it would be simple to buy one. Big Box Store sizes seem to stop at 36"

Anyone know of suppliers?

On line search seemed to not reveal any "ready to Ship" Models. Would prefer to find a local / Chicago area supplier in case there are fitment issues.

Earl,

Since you mentioned that corrosion is an issue & there appears to be not a huge amount of material needed ... I would not rule out a really good stainless steel custom fabricator ... after making a few well designed sketches.

I talked to my son, he’s door guy. A 48” door is probably going to be a special order door and they aren’t cheap. Your best bet would be to contact a commercial door company, but be prepared to be in sticker shock when you find out how much they cost. My steel door is cemented into the wall, it'd be a $OB to replace the whole door frame.

What about a wood door and put stainless sheets of steel on both sides. Pioneer door in St. Joseph, MO is where I bought a 48 inch steel door. I don't recall the cost but it was expensive.

I'm in the same boat with the same door size. Except instead of mine being corroded my 75 year old attendant drove his car into the door and now its all out of alignment. I've been thinking about asking some of the closed down washes around me if I can buy their front door... lol.. looks like they are probably the same door.

I always get mine from the cement block plant. They sell bricks, rocks, blocks, and everything to go with it. I guess they sell the doors since you would normally cement the frame in place. Would be worth a shot to try one of them.
