I own an older Superwash facility with the old style touchless that has an arch. My issue is that we get soap purging at the end of the IBA wash cycle after the spot free pump (Cat 1010) shuts off. I have replaced the presoak and spot free check valves that are located in the bay. We have a green Myers centrifugal pump (QP7-3) for the presoak. The pressure gauge was reading 50psi. (I was told that this pressure s/b 20-30psi.)The air was at 40psi. I created a bypass valve redirecting some of the presoak back into the mixing tank. The psi came down to 38psi. I adjusted the air down to 20psi. There is a ball valve after the pressure gauge (as well as the pump check valve) and I have partially closed that. I still get soap....not as much as before, but it still purges. Anyone ever have this problem? Thoughts?

It sounds like the air solenoid valve is leaking and forcing the remaining presoak in the line on out into bay. (There is no solenoid on the presoak, right?) It may have trash in it, or it be deteriorating and needs repaired or replaced.

Thanks for the reply. Correct...the presoak is its own separate line and is driven by the centrifugal pump. There is no solenoid. The air and presoak have separate lines that meet at a tee in the IBA. I also took the air line off the solenoid thinking that the check valve could be faulty. There was no fluid in the air line. I will have to double check the air solenoid for a leak.

Shut the air off (at a valve, not just the regulator) and run a wash. If the problem stops, that's your culprit!
