Preventive Maintenance for ShurVend: Erase any Errors

For Sensit II, 2 line display vendors:

We get calls now and then from our customers that tell us that the helix will turn about 1/4 turn and then stop without vending the product. When a bill validator or a coin changer has a bill jam or stuck coin, it sends an error notation to the control board which is stored in memory. Most operators know how to check for stuck bills or jammed coins and can fix these devices so the vendor goes back to work. These errors do not come up automatically on the display unless the vendor is put into "mode" (programming) operation. The "mode" button is the small tan/yellow button near the bottom of the control on the front edge of the board. The vendor will "beep" once when the mode button is pushed and the errors will pop up on the display first. When you read what the errors are, fix the problems if necessary and then use the "0" (zero) key to erase them. There are levels and sub-levels of errors so there be quite a few errors. Keep pushing the zero key until the display reads "Accounting". Push the Mode button on the control board again (2 beeps this time) to put the vendor back into service. Reboot the vendor by turning off the white switch which is under the bottom tray on the right side where all the harnesses go from the door to the cabinet of the vendor. Wait 30 seconds to a minute, then turn the power back on. Check the indicator lights on the bill and coin to make sure they are on steady (or the smiley face appears on the Mars changer) and shut the vendor door. Put money in the bill or coin and make sure the product vends.

You can eliminate having the vendor shut down due to errors accumulating by checking for errors each month or so during your preventive maintenance procedures and erasing them.

Happy vending!!!

Uncle Sam :)
