Fellow Car Wash Owners,

This is a closer to 10 minute "Preview" version of my previous posted (in the Anything Goes Category) "Truth vs Propaganda" Video. The longer 1 hour more comprehensive version is still a good idea & still available but now it has a more compact "Preview" companion. Hopefully, enough of a number of responsible people will have a chance to see & share at least one ... if not both the short version & the long version of the video! Nothing personal against credit cards ... but it just seems like the level of dependency should be considered! The longer version does include much more self service car, dog, vending & vacuum relevant footage though!

Mike,

Looked at the 10 min version. From it I have difficulty understanding what it is your trying to say. As you may know, people have a short attention span and so you need to make a direct pitch for what you want to say.

With regards to the $1 coin...in Canada we have both the $1 and $2 coin and recently the government has decided to drop the penny...yet I still have CC card acceptance in all my bays, petwashes and IBA. CC usage is about 40% in the IBA and about 15% in the bays, but growing. We only have bill acceptors in the IBA entry system and change machine. It seems your answer is simple, bill acceptors (however impractical, can be added along with CC acceptance). Token dispensing along with coin acceptance the norm. I have always believe that it is foolish to prevent a customer from giving you money.

Happy New Year to you and yours...Big

Big,

Happy New Year to you & all on the forum too! I pretty much agree with everything you said & I do have 2 year old bill acceptors in all 6 bays & the 2 room dog wash which will still work great for $5 & $10 bills. What I am concerned about is when our leaders refuse to learn some of the better directions that Canada & most other countries have taken. Specifically, giving their laundromat owners & it even applies to many of their car wash owners & their customers what inflation messed up, Sure ... tokens can be an alternative ... but from my research ... coins are the better fit. In the one hour more detail video I make the point about the 75+ card receptables needed & the expense that has to be added to what we charge our customers.

Your approach gives you a competitive edge ... whether it is enough to offset firmware & software upgrade cost among many other added expenses ... it remains to be seen. To have public policy force a gravitation towards your approach ... from my perspective does not seem right. Also, the 1 hour video hopefully will inspire enough people in a position of authority to help correct the distortions by some policy makers & some in the media. I have documents & clear proof of everything that I presented in both videos.
