I purchased a new (still in the crate) L4000 about 6 months ago and we are getting ready to install it. It was a Florida machine, and therefore didnt have any of the cold weather options on it that I need for NY.

What are the best options for heating the water for a L4000? On Jan 30, 2009 my PDQ salesman told me the onboard presoak heater (Part # L0498) costs $2,640. Now it's time to install the unit and he tells me I need (Part #0930007/09) at a cost of $3,425 each X 2.

Am I comparing apples vs. oranges, or just getting bent over?

Scott-

The items that you will need are KIT 064 and KIT 067 to upgrade your LW4000. The 09 number that you gave was a heater for the M5. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks Kris. Although I was hoping to hear from others on what they costs might be. a $3K solution to heat water seems awful damn expensive!

Check the price on the numbers that I gave you. I think you will like these numbers much better! :)
