ProCon and Flojet in series

Can you put a ProCon pump in series with a Flojet pump? Why you ask? I love the procon pumps for presoaks, tire, foam broshes. Had one fail however and I lost all pressure. I like Flojets but like the higher flow and pressures of the procon. Flojets are bullet-proof though. Can it be done? One backs up the other? Or maybe put them in parallel?

Procons are generally very reliable. I would recommend either a Procon by itself or two Flojets in parallel. At least with two Flojets if one fails the other will just take over. You'd just have to check regularly that both are working. I've been planning to double up on every system with two Flojets. I might try to come up with a PLC control that will alternate the pumps and use a sensor to alert and switch to just one if the other fails, but it would be easier to just have two pumps.

There is a high-flow Flojet model that's just a pair of pumps on a manifold, but it's a lot more trouble to change one of the pumps than it is to swap a single one on a quick-change mount.

I guess you could pump procons in parallel, but as rare as it is to have a problem with them you could probably just change the pump as PM every five years and call it good.
