Pump question?????

I have hypro 2400 series pumps in one bay it will do 1200psi until
You depress handle in bay then it runs 900. I put new seals in pump to be sure but never had one do this could it be the Unloader bad???? Any suggestions would
Be great!

I have the same pumps. Yes I believe the balanced relief valve is faulty. It's not reacting to the change in volume properly. It needs to stop bypassing when the trigger is pulled or the overall pressure will reduce. Depending on what brand you have, some can be rebuilt on the cheap. Ive had pretty good results rebuilding them.

Do you have a weep system? Or what type of pressure valve, is it like this one?

Tie off the trigger in the bay, and with the pump running slowly pinch off the bypass hose from the regulator. If you can hear water flowing through the restriction when you pinch it, the regulator is bad. If you can pinch it completely closed, you're losing flow somewhere or the tip is eroded.

Yes it does have a weep system. I went ahead and replaced the pressure regulator it is a para plate br-5 model. Still no luck so I tied handle off pull one by one the lines off from solenoids and put finger over line and to no avail. It is a older pump could it wash and do that? This is a new one for me.

What about check valve on water holding it's relatively new but if it sticks could it somehow not give it enough flow?

If the inlet check valve is not opening fully the pump will sound fine until the trigger is pulled, then it will clatter loudly from the cavitation.

Hmmm yeah I've had that happen before with the cavitation from
Bad check valve but there is none! Pump runs fine smooth. I've put a new tip in yesterday still nothing. I'm probably missing the obvious. I'll check my fittings to set if
There could be a break or something. Appreciate all the extra tips!

Is there a weep check valve on the outlet side of the pump? If that is bad enough it won't make pressure like it should.

Did you also change or check the valve o-rings?

We'll I didn't look at the valve orings thoroughly. It does have a check valve on the weep I'll take a closer look at those it didn't appear
To be leaking.

I have seen two recent cases where the inlet check valve was partially blocking the flow, which caused reduced pressure, but not enough to cause cavitation.

If the inlet check valve is restricting flow enough to reduce the pressure, it's causing cavitation.

Did you check the valves, but those usually start pulsating though... You sure you got all the seals back in correctly.. No..

Ahh I'm sure I've had that happen before.. I remember it, but don't remember what it was yet..

What size tip do you have in? Do you have the pressure regulator turned all the way up? Have you tried a new hand wand? Try a new wand. It's ringing a bell I think..?

I think it's Dumping, try turning up the pressure and see if it goes back down to 900 or if it just goes down by 300 psi again

Ok we'll update!!!!!! This pos still don't work!!!!!! I have change the regulator put a new check valve on inlet and completely plugged off all other areas "soap wax weep" so it just water and pump still nada! It still maintains a steady 800 psi when wand is held???????? I tried to eliminate the obvious all together any body got something cause I'm out of theories and ideas! Thanks!

Sorry mr fix it I didn't answer your questions. It had a 2505 tip and replaced it with a new 1505 tip I did on two occasions try and turning regulator all the way down but will not do anything differant when wand is pulled only 800psi. As far as the seals are concerned I'm relatively sure I didn't get them in backwards BUT I only base this upon I'm having exact same problem before rebuild. Only thing I have not done was try a new wand so I'll try that tomorrow as we'll!

Did you make sure the belt is tight?

Did you ever test the regulator to see if it's bypassing water when it shouldn't be? I know you replaced it but it could be bad.

Did you check the valves and inspect the valve o-rings?

Geez, sounds like a real head scratcher. Thinking it could have been something in the pump, like after a rebuild I he'd to redo or forgot something.
