We have a five year old 3000 gal per day pur-clean spot free system. Over the last few years the product water has slowly dropped from 2 gal per min to .5 gal per min. We changed the membrane, checked water flow out of carbon filter and checked the two solenoids. Still no change. Any suggestions?

What is the pressure on the system? It should be at or just below 200 PSI.

The pressure is between 180 and 200.

Just to be sure, you did change the membrane, or was it maybe a prefilter? A 3000 GPD system should have two 4 x 40 membranes.

I changed the membrane, I thought for sure this was the problem but it did'nt change the output of product water at all. The 3000 gpd on has one membrane.

You might change the gauge to confirm the pressure is right. If the membrane was fouled, a new one should have solved it. Otherwise, only a loss of pressure would change the amount of product.

Youi may have some type of flow restriction. To check remove the water supply line going to the membrane and turn on the pump. You should get a stream that shoots out a good 10 feet. Are the product and reject flows about the same?

Normal input pressure and low flow usually mean a restriction in the membrane. Did you use the same membrane that was in the unit?

Check line from membrane to RO storage tank. Look for a kink, or a valve that may be partially closed.
