Push-In Manifolds

After my previous post about what high pressure manifold is best to use, I went with Ric's suggestion and purchased these to redo my self serve bays.

I will have four openings in the manifold to use for additional options above and beyond the HP functions. Here is what I will be hooking up:

• 3/8" spot free line with check valve
• (2) 1/4" poly lines for my antifreeze purge system with check valve
• (4) 1/4" poly lines for air, tire/engine cleaner, pre-soak and an undetermined function with check valve
• plug for future expansion

I have been able to find a push-lock manifold that might work for my (4) 1/4" poly lines, but I am concerned about its chemical resistance since it is basically an air manifold that is used in clean room environments...the one caveat is that it can be sterilized which is a pretty harsh process.

I have checked Dultmeier and Kleen-Rite and they don't appear to have a manifold like I need and I don't really like the idea of just using a bunch of push lock fittings...any suggestions?

I use the plastic pushlocks everywhere at my wash. No problems so far.

Your air lines can all be tee'd into one back in the equipment room. Just use plastic poly tubing pushlock tee's. Then use one check valve on the manifold with a push lock fitting. The plastic pushlock fittings from Kleen Rite work fine.
Just use good quality stainless steel check valves at the manifold.

FWIW, I wouldn't use a permanent swivel type fitting like these. I'm not familiar with the brand McMaster-Carr uses, but historically these type fittings have spontaneously begun to leak even in an installation where there's no movement or handling.

At each bay for the tire cleaner, presoak and common air I use a cross fitting with two elbow tubing fittings and one straight one all facing where the run comes from. I use the same plastic tubing fittings as Ric and they've been trouble-free.

Note minimum temp for the Push lock manifold is 32 degrees. If it gets colder where you are go with pipe fittings and push lock fittings. You can order S pipe fittings from Mc Master As well. Their shipping is amazing. Usualy get deliveries next business day and if i order by 10:00 am often the same day.

Thanks for all the tips guys, I should have my manifolds tomorrow and I am going to start going through my spare parts to see what I need to buy.
