One of my Rowe changers is giving me the error "check R coin detector". I have had this issues in the past and switching out the laser fixed the problem. My issue this time is that I get the error before it runs any quarters. Previously if I reset the machine then it would seem to work fine and give me the running dashes then error out after changing a bill. This time it errors out with that message right away as soon as I reset the machine and won't even let me run a bill through. Could something else be the problem?

Thanks.

The coin detector is like a normally-closed circuit - if either the emitter or receiver has failed, it will throw the error before it tries to run.

I replaced the emitter with no luck, maybe it's the receiver? Does KleenRite sell those as well? Also, in the emitter, is it just a standard ir emiiter?

Not sure on those questions, I haven't really worked on them much since they still had a light bulb for the coin signal.
