Hey everyone! I’ve been thinking about something recently, and I’m curious if anyone else has noticed or wondered the same. When you're at a car wash, have you ever paid attention to the lighting?

Some car washes have those really bright, intense lights that make the car look sparkling clean, while others might have a softer, more diffused light. Does the lighting at your local car wash actually impact how you see the final results? Does it make it harder to spot certain imperfections, or does it make the car look better than it actually is?

Just something I’ve been wondering! Curious to hear what you all think about car wash lighting and its effect on how we judge a clean car.

I would guess the overriding factor is cost. If a Wash was built with MH or Fluorescent lights and they are working, plus the operator has not yet wanted to spend the $ to replace the lights, that is what you see. Newer locations will have LED with a whiter color temperature as would places that have replaced / upgraded the lights.

In my area, it’s less about the car and more about making people comfortable to wash at night. The super bright lights remove the anxiety that the dull fluorescent horror film lights create
