Hello,

I'm curious about something, the other day I was at work and we where piping in some heat pump units and the tower water is piped in to the units typical with red hose or the flex wire mesh hoses typical (brushed silver) in color I had two other guys with me and and immediately I had a few observations that didn't set well with me.

As we were finishing someone else's work I noticed that the brass barbed fitting was taped with Teflon and coated in What looked like never seize... I mentioned out loud "that doesn't look right to me... the only thing I use never seize is bolts" ...I continued "were supposed to be using pipe dope." The two I was with looked a bit confused for the moment and I don't like to waste time or make mistakes.

So I made a call to my project manager who is a journeyman and he said to me that it's not never seize... but I'm looking right at the container says Blue monster NEVER Seize and thread sealant...

He said it will work...
Am I ignorant in this situation for challenging him or beliving their is a diffrence between the two?

As I have only ever used blue monster pipe DOPE on tower cooled water units that are under pressure typical 80psi. Resized_20221014_125229.jpeg

It will work. It’s a anti seize and thread sealant product. You can use it on both bolts and fittings. It’s not specific to either.
