I read somewhere that a carwash was pumping RainX thru a foam gun as one of their options.

Has anyone seen this and can comment on how well it's working and how the customers have received the idea?

Thanks in Advance...BigLeo

I run RainX in my self serve thru the HP gun. The old clearcoat wax was HP, but I wanted the RainX low pressure so it had the look and smell like our tunnel applications. I had to rewire the meter box switches, replumb the manifolds over each bay and mount a FloJet and regulator to the solenoids in the mechanical room. The work took a full day for 6 bays. Of course the product works great. The show/smell is awesome. I can tell when a customer is using it when I am in the mechanical room. I put up banners on a few bays to promote it. I think the response is great from the people that recognize the name brand. I have educated many others on its benefits. My wash is very old and not in the most up to date part of town and I think the branding added some "professionalism" to my wash. I have since added this option to another 8 bay self serve.

Also need to add that I had to add air to it to get a good show(foamy but runny) and that if I can ever get my signage redone, I will be adding the RainX logo to my signage.

I Put In Rain-x And Eliminated Tri-foam(which Hasn't Been Selling Very Well). I'm Using My Same Equipment But Unhooked All Solinoids(that Switches The Different Colors) And Just Pull From One Tank. It Comes Out Like Shaving Creme. I Cant Believe How Well It Is Selling!!!

JohnPeter - Neat idea. Do you have any idea what the cost per minute is?

When We First Put It On It Was Costing About $.12/min. I Need To Test It Again To Make Sure My Numbers Are Right.

Not bad but I would say that is more than twice what the trifoam should cost per minute. I would check to make sure it is not more than that. Some of the other super sealants pn the market would probably cost less.

I've thought about switching to RainX just for the brand recognition. Yes, it's expensive, but it does what it advertises.

I know there are other ss that are cheaper but i chose the one I beleive my customers know best. To me its all about quarters if not to many people are using trifoam then why not switch it leads to more time spent in the bays which leads to more quarters!
