We just had our reclaim tanks pumped and the water still smells terrible! Does anyone have a solution? Is there product out there we can by to stop the smell? Are there tabs? or something I can drop in the tanks that will be safe for vehicles? Thanks:confused:

What kind of Reclaim System are you dealing with?
If it an "Old" style unit with Media Tanks, your smell maybe coming from the reclaim unit itself.

Media Tanks are normally filled with a Filter material or Granular activated carbon. The media can be a perfect environment to grow bateria in. Just like a dirty dishwashing sponge which can smell pretty bad.

Tablets could solve your problem, since they are can be oxidizers like chlorine which can kill the bateria.

Hope this observation helps.

I am not sure if you can install an ozonater as an aftermarket item. I ordered it on my Purclean and have never had any smell. It shoots into the second tank. No granular, bio or anything else. Just three 1500 gallon tanks and ozonator with no smell. There are some some other filters on the pump stand but the ozonator is for the smell control.

Is this the first pumping or the first incidence of odor? I assume a local septic pumper did the work and backflushed the tanks several times. I would add a gallon of bleach to each tank after pumping to sanitize. If you have media tanks, and ozonation isn't readily feasible, you might try injecting 10% hydrogen peroxide into the tank.

There are individual Ozone systems available built on a skid with pump, injector and timer. Fairly easy to install.
