Replacing / Upgrading Old Big Blue Sonics

Are there any of the old blue sonics for the drivers side available for sizing cars for the PDQ Laserwash 4000? Is there a new cheeper sonic pair out there that can be retro fitted? We are in the northeast and they would need to be heated as well.

The blue ultrasonics are not available anymore, ( unless somebody is holding on to a few)... PDQ offers an upgrade kit, that repaces the blue ones with smaller black ones, and an extra board to communicate with the VT board. There is no longer a need to buy a D/S or P/S specific ultrasonic with the new system. The whole upgrade system is cheaper than buying 2 of the blue ultrasonics,(if you can find them)

Since PDQ no longer sells the sensors that your 4000 used they can sell them outright. We have ordered a few from them and have been pleased. They also mentioned that they can "rebuild" them for about half price, it may be worth asking them about that as well.

I installed a relay to turn off the ultrasonics when the bay is not in use. So far so good. Another wash locally replaces their u/s' every 12-18months on a good run. Mine are beating very strong and continue to do so after 4months. Worth a try?
