Anybody out there run the vac-it-up systems without coin pulse timers in some other independent way...like with a PLC?

I want to change this so they don't run as often as I find I could run them 4 to 6 times a day in my busiest bays on my busiest days and not clog anything up.

Plus I want to free up a coin switch output for a sales tracking and counting software.

An IDEC SmartRelay or Seimans LOGO could easily perform your desired operation.

Version 1:
Coin acceptor pulse triggers inputs
Input triggers RETENTIVE ON DELAY programmed for one hour
RETENTIVE ON DELAY triggers OFF DELAY programmed for 10 seconds

In operation:
Coin accepted starts RETENTIVE ON DELAY
One hour later vacuum motor runs for 10 seconds, clearing coins from conduit
Idle bays result in no action.

Version 2:
Coin pulse triggers UP/DOWN COUNTER programmed for maximum coins allowed in “storage”…say 50 coins?
COUNTER triggers OFF DELAY programmed for time needed to clear coins from conduit…5 seconds for closest bays? 10 seconds for furthest bays?

Version 3:
No coin pulse required!
Use the HOURS COUNTER programmed for one hour “maintenance interval”
The HOURS COUNTER triggers the OFF DELAY programmed for 10 seconds
Each vac motor runs for 10 seconds every hour

Don’t want the system to work 24/7?
Add the WEEKLY TIMER programmed to turn the system on between 7am to 7pm

The least expensive Smart Relay provides 8 inputs and 4 outputs. I'd use the 24v version with outputs powering 24v 15 amp relays to feed the vacuum motors.

Can't Break 80,

Thanks for that...looks like the IDEC SmartRelay is a re-branded Logo.

Sorry about your golf game :(

bigleo...

I forgot to mention...
Version 3 permits the use of only one 15 amp circuit to run all of your vac-it-up motors.

Since you can program the HOURS COUNTER to activate every hour, you can add ON-OFF DELAYS to run each vac motor in a sequenced manner...every hour, each vac motor runs one at a time for what...10 seconds? Since only one motor runs at a time, you can get by with one circuit to power the entire system.

And, there's no need to connect an input to the Smart Relay...unless you want to add a pushbutton to manually test the system. Cool!

Oh, and my username? It should be "cantbreak74" now!
