Hello,
I am running a ryko soft gloss maxx 3 and my driver side gear box seems to be going out every 3-6 months for the past 3 years straight. This is the amount of time I have worked on the machine so I don’t know the whole history but from what I have heard from another tech was that this is a norm for the owner of it. I think a car bumping into the machine might have caused it once or twice but 5 times in three years. Is this normal for this machine? Does anyone else have the same issue? If so what possibly have you done to solve it or make it not happen so much. I have thought about adding a wheel to the outside of the machine to help take some of the weight off of that drive wheel on each side of the machine, but leave enough weight on the drive wheel for it to be able to still have traction to the rail and move the machine. The design of the machine just seems really bad to have all that weight balanced on the gearbox, which probably has gears with super fine teeth in it cause it has to convert the power from the motor to the wheel in a 90* degree angle in the gear box. I appreciate anyone who took the time to read this and possibly share their thought or personal experiences.
Thanks,
Anthony
