Ryko Softgloss Problem

I have a strange problem that happened to night but i will look more into it tomorrow but if anyone has had this happen or know what it might be that could help. A car pulls in the lights turn red but there is no buzzer. The wash starts up and but no soak ( triple foam will work) ans the brushes will start but no water comes out when the wash reaches the front on the first pass the green lights come on but the door will not open until it times out. I ran the car though a bunch of times and only got one code 12 witch i think is for the tire locater but when i checked it out on the plc it seems to be working fine ( its on and then when i block it it goes off) I'm not sure what would cause the problem with no water and the buzzer not going off but any help of where to start would be great. Well the water issue would be the 1" Parker Water Solenoid Valve on the top of your softgloss.

Sounds like a couple different issues happening at once.

one being the buzzer issue the other water delivery.

When the vehicle pulls in, if the red lights turn on and the machine starts, this indicates the machine itself is operating properly. For the buzzer to sound, there are two relays that need to be energized. These are K119 (which is energized by the wash armed output Y20), and relay K64 which is energized when PLC output Y64 turns on. If either of these relays are not turning on, you won't get your bayswitch buzzer, although the machine might work fine.

For the water issue, I agree that it sounds like a water valve is not opening properly.

I checked the solenoid last night and everything looked ok. My tec came out this afternoon and double checked everything and there where no codes when he hooked up his handheld but after a while noticed that the little breaker CB1 was popped out a little and pushed it in and it worked until he leaves (10 cars)and then trips again so I'm not sure what is hooked up to that but its at least a starting point so that is tomorrows job to find out what could be tripping this. Thanks and if anyone ones this and could point me in a direction theres alot of wires is there.

If you look at the electrical schematic that should have been included in the service manual that came with your machine, you should see CB01 on the output page. This varies a little over all the different vintages of equipment, but in looking at a SoftGloss MAXX schematic (for a machine with clutches), that overload should protect outputs connected between Y20 and Y37. It could be any of the items connected within that range. The most likely suspect I can see in those woudl be the wash water solenoid valve attached to PLC output Y30. If the coil to that valve is pulling too many amps, it will pop trip that overload.

having a couple spare solenoid coils on hand is a good idea.

when tripping a braker i agree that a look at your electrical schematic will tell what is tied into that braker and you start from there.

if you have a volt meter you can test functions and voltages on each part and determine if they are correct or not.

i am no expert, but during my last equipment failure i learned how to read every input/output card on my equipment as well as jumping out switches etc to troubleshoot. this is a big help and a must when you do repairs in house.

Thanks That was the one i don't have the schematics for the machine they got wet when a hose burst in the equipment room and when i went to look at it a while later they had mold and all stuck together. Is there a place on line that has schematics? Thanks for the help i never had one of those breakers trip i never noticed them in the machine before.

It's the 1" solenoid valve . When mine did the exact same thing, I took the undercar wash coil off and put it on the machine until I got a new coil. Having to choose between the two, I figured the machine needed the water more then the undercar.
Also, you will have to take that valve apart at some point. A tiny piece of dirt will get stuck in there and the water wont shut off. If your lucky, the four bolts holding it together will come out, at least the first time. When they break off, the valve wont stay together, and will need to be replaced. Of coarse you know when this will happen ( sunny saturday ). You can replace that with any 1" 24v valve, such as K/R part #SOD418P.
