I have a 10 year old Softgloss.
When the top brush comes down on the back of cars, it stays down and the machine aborts the wash. It washes SUVS with no problem, it only fails when the brush lowers on the trunk of sedans.

Any ideas what the issue might be?

Check your top brush mac valve. When it has to go down so low, it probably doesn't have enough air to go all the way back up. I've had it happen to me in the past. Easy fix.

I agree with Slash. It could also be the needle valve on the TB air cylinder used to soften the lift so it doesn't have hard contact when it raises. If that needle valve setting has moved, it could be set too restrictive.

It appears to have been a restriction in the MAC valve. It has been working since Saturday afternoon with no more issues.

Thanks!

the hoses coming off the boom to the machine, right by the solenoid valves, are rubbing against the back top brush frame.
Use some heavy zip ties and tighten them up.
Took me a while to figure it out, and it's so darn simple.

It is simple. You may want to split a piece of hose or something so the zip tie doesn't cut into the hose.
