Downloaded the app for my android and put one card on it and gave it a try at a local store that featured it, overall it seemed pretty simple and it worked, I'm waiting for WashCard to release it for our system, does anybody else here use the Apple/Android pay for paying with a credit card these days? it seems that we would have to retrain customers on how to use it or am I overthinking this? If people will chase an invisible Pokemon character through the city this shouldn't be that hard to implement.

I've been using Apple pay for a few months now. I LOVE IT. It's easier, and more secure than using the credit card itself.

I'll be looking into upgrading my WashCard system to utilize it.

Maybe over thinking it. My wash has a couple of USA technology eports that support "contactless" payments......apple pay, samsung pay, google wallet. I put up some stickers that say what is supported and customers are using it without issue. I had one customer call because it wouldn't work for him. I think he was using google wallet. Turned out that mastercard debit had some issues that have since been resolved. Not a large % of transactions happening via contactless, but at least one per day.

Is it possible to integrate this with an ACW and Cryptopay? I have no idea how it works, but the concept is cool!

Cryptopay doesn't support this. I asked the question and the answer was, "we only accept payment through the magnetic strip".

Samsung Pay uses a unique feature called magnetic secure transmission (MST) when the phone is held against one of the swipers the phone emits a magnetic signal that simulates the magnetic strip found on the back of a credit or debit card.

I will test it in the morning. Only downfall is that Apple pay or android pay don't have that feature only Samsung pay on Samsung phones.

Diamondwash - were you able to use samsung pay on a cryptopay?

I'm also wondering if the other players will pursue this technology and/or if this may be something that turns into a VHS vs. Beta type issue. I have to laugh at the vhs vs. beta reference. It wasn't an issue in my house as both of my parents were born during the great depression. If I had asked my dad if we were getting/going with beta or vhs he would have laughed his A$$ off, told me neither and that was I was getting another job instead.

I just tried the Samsung pay on a Cryptopay swiper and..............................No Go  sorry, I really thought it would of worked given the promises from Samsung on it will work anywhere a magnetic swipe is accepted. I have been running in that issue for a little while now where this new technology is not working and makes the process longer not easier. Take card out of wallet and swipe 10 secs vs get phone out then find the app click on app put phone to reader and wait = 30 to 45 secs Hmmmmmmm.
